Serving businesses across California

Google review removal for California businesses

Free audit. No upfront cost. You pay only after a review comes down. Someone in Fresno choosing a plumber, or in San Jose picking a dentist, opens your Google listing and reads the reviews first, and a fake one-star can decide the call before you get a chance to make your case.

In short

Can a fake Google review be removed in California?

Yes, if it violates Google’s published policies: fake engagement, spam, off-topic content, a conflict of interest or harassment. Being negative is not enough. Erase Trax checks every review on your profile for free, takes on the ones that violate policy, and you pay only for removals verified on your live profile. Google makes the final decision.

Who we help

California businesses we work with

Local search runs California. When several restaurants, dentists or contractors sit within the same few blocks, the star rating is often what decides who gets the call.

  • Restaurants and cafes

Restaurants and cafesA handful of fake one-stars near the top of your profile can quietly thin out a dining room on a night that should have been busy.

  • Retail and local shops

Retail and local shopsShoppers pick between listings before they leave the house. A competitor’s fake review should not be what tips the decision.

  • Medical and dental practices

Medical and dental practicesA star rating gets checked before a resume does. One fabricated complaint can bury years of genuine patient trust.

  • Home service contractors

Home service contractorsPlumbers, electricians, roofers and HVAC techs lose calls they never hear about, because the phone simply rings less.

  • Hotels and short-term rentals

Hotels and short-term rentalsGuests read reviews before they book. One exaggerated one-star near the top can send them to the next listing.

  • Auto repair shops

Auto repair shopsThis work runs on trust. A review from someone who never brought a car in can undo months of solid service.

  • Moving companies

Moving companiesPeople handing over everything they own read reviews closely. One fake damage claim can wipe out a season of bookings.

  • Law firms and legal consultants

Law firms and legal consultantsClients research long before they pick up the phone. What shows up in that search should be true.

What can come down

What types of Google reviews can be removed?

A review does not come down for being tough to read. It comes down for violating policy, and those policies are laid out publicly in Google’s Prohibited and Restricted Content policy for Maps.

Can come down5

  • Fake engagement. Left by someone who was never a customer, an account created only to leave a one-star, or a rating attack from a competitor’s spare account.
  • Spam and promotional content. Reviews packed with links, phone numbers or ads, or the same complaint pasted across several unrelated listings.
  • Off-topic content. Politics, an unrelated grievance or a different location, none of which describe an actual visit to your business.
  • Conflict of interest. Written by a competitor, an ex-employee, or anyone with something to gain from damaging your rating.
  • Harassment and personal information. Threats, slurs, targeted abuse, or a post that exposes someone’s private details.

Stays up1

  • A real customer’s bad experience. If a real customer had a bad time and said so, that review stays up, even at one star, and we will not pretend otherwise. If nothing on your profile violates policy, the audit says so and costs nothing.
What it costs you

What negative Google reviews actually cost you

Plenty of reviews violate Google’s policies, and while they sit on your profile they cost you in four ways.

  • Fewer clicks

Most people scroll past anything under four stars without stopping to read why.

  • A weaker local ranking

Your rating feeds into how often your listing shows up, so a lower score means fewer people ever see you.

  • Second thoughts from new customers

One bad review near the top is often enough to make someone pause, even with plenty of good ones below it.

  • Buried good reviews

Genuine feedback loses its impact once it is stuck underneath the noise.

Above board

Is removing Google reviews legal in California?

Yes. Asking for a review that violates Google’s policies to come down is open to any business owner. What matters is how it is done.

  • Google’s own policies, nothing else

Some services cut corners: paid reviews to bury the bad ones, bot networks, or “removal” that is really suppression through an unreliable tool. Any of it can get a Business Profile suspended. We touch none of it.

  • No spam, no shortcuts, no exceptions

Those tactics exist because they are faster money for someone else. We would rather not take on a client who ends up worse off than when they started.

  • No removal, no charge

We carry the risk of a case ourselves, which is why we only take on reviews we believe will come down.

  • You see where each review stands

From the day a review is taken on to the day Google decides, you can follow it without chasing anyone by email.

Timing

How long does Google review removal take?

It depends on the review, and the audit tells you which kind each one is rather than one blanket number.

  • Straightforward cases move quickest

Spam and obviously off-topic posts are the clearest policy violations, and they are usually decided first.

  • Convincing fake accounts take longer

A review from a fake account that looks real can take more time to resolve.

  • Google sets the pace

Nobody controls Google’s queue, so you get progress as it happens rather than a promised date.

Working with us

Four stages. The invoice is the last one.

  1. Free audit

Send your Google Business Profile link. Every review is read and you are told, in writing, how many are realistically removable. No cost, no commitment.

  2. Case opened

Once you give the go-ahead, the case is ours to run. No third-party removal tools, nothing that risks your listing.

  3. The platform decides

Google makes the call on each review, and a first no is common. Your case does not stop there, and you can see where each one stands.

  4. Removed. Now you pay.

You are billed only for reviews that actually come down. If a case does not work out, it costs you nothing.

What makes a Google review removable?

It has to violate Google’s Prohibited and Restricted Content policy: fake engagement, spam, off-topic content, a conflict of interest, harassment or impersonation. Being negative is not enough.

Can you remove a review just because it is unfair?

No. A real customer describing a real experience can post it, even at one star. If nothing is broken, we say so during the audit and charge nothing.

How much does Google review removal cost?

There is no upfront fee. The audit is free, and you are billed only once a review is gone, at a price per removal agreed in writing before any work starts.

Can I report a review myself for free?

Yes, and it is worth trying. Most owner reports get turned down, though, because they argue that a review is unfair instead of showing which policy it violates.

What happens if Google says no?

A first no is common, and your case does not stop there. If Google still refuses, the review stays up and you owe nothing for it.

Can this get my Google Business Profile suspended?

No. Suspensions come from buying reviews or using third-party suppression tools. Nothing we do puts your profile at risk.

Do you work outside California?

Yes. This page is written for California, and we also serve businesses across the rest of the United States, the UK, Canada, Australia and the UAE.
