Online reputation management in Ontario

Ask any owner in Mississauga or Ottawa what brings in new work, and the honest answer is the rating attached to their name. Which makes it painful when a review shows up from someone who never hired you, or a complaint meant for a company three cities over lands on your profile and sits there.

In short

What does online reputation management do for an Ontario business?

It looks after the rating and the results attached to your name, in English and, where your customers write it, in French. Erase Trax takes on Google reviews that violate Google’s policies, pushes damaging results down, drafts replies and watches Google and HomeStars. Removal is billed per verified removal; monitoring and search work are weekly, with no fixed term.

Who does what in Ontario

A false review in Ontario: who can act on it

Suing a reviewer in Ontario has a particular catch, and the provincial consumer office handles disputes, not posts. The platform is the one that can take a review down.

Removable by Google4

  • A review meant for a company three cities over. A complaint about a different business is off-topic under Google’s policies, and a clean case.
  • Someone who never hired you. A review from a person with no genuine dealings with your business violates Google’s policies, in either language.
  • A competitor or a former employee. Someone with a stake in your rating dropping has a conflict of interest, which Google prohibits.
  • Abuse or personal details. Threats, slurs and a person’s private information are against policy, in English or French.

Not Google’s call3

  • A lawsuit against the reviewer. Section 137.1 of Ontario’s Courts of Justice Act lets a defendant ask the court to end a claim early when it is about expression on a public-interest matter. An Ontario lawyer can tell you whether that applies.
  • Consumer Protection Ontario. It deals with consumer complaints and how businesses treat customers. It does not remove a review from your listing.
  • An honest bad review. It stays. A good reply, in the reviewer’s language, and more genuine reviews after it, is how it stops defining you.

What we take on for an Ontario business

Canada’s most populous province is also its most crowded market, and the Greater Toronto Area alone has a competitor on almost every block. Each job is run by the part of the team built for it.

  • Your starting position, free

Your Google profile, HomeStars page and page one for your name, read through, with a plain account of what is costing you work.

  • A daily watch

Google, HomeStars, TripAdvisor, r/toronto and r/ottawa, so a false post reaches you on the day, not after a month of readers.

  • Page one cleaned up

Accurate pages under your brand that outrank an old complaint-board thread a Brampton or Hamilton customer would read first.

  • Replies in English or French

A calm answer to every genuine review, in the language it was written in, so the next reader sees how you handle a complaint.

  • Removals

A Google review that violates policy is taken on, and reaches your invoice only once Google has removed it.

  • Ongoing defence

We stay on the account, because a market this size sends new competitors and new posts every season.

Where Ontarians look

Where an Ontario customer reads about you

Google first, then a second site that depends on your trade. Each has its own policies, and some leave almost nothing to remove.

  • Google

The first look for nearly every Ontario customer, in English or French. Breaches of Google’s policies are taken on; honest reviews get a good reply.

  • HomeStars

A standard stop for GTA homeowners choosing a contractor. Watched and answered, and taken on where HomeStars acts on the policy a review violates.

  • TripAdvisor

Read by visitors for Niagara, cottage country and Toronto’s restaurants. Watched daily, replies drafted, policy-violating reviews taken on.

  • Glassdoor and r/toronto

Where staff and Torontonians talk. We watch and help you answer; a post that violates the site’s policies is taken on, and the rest is outranked.

The outcome

What this changes for your Ontario business

  • A rating that reflects you

Reviews Google removes are gone from the average, and your score settles where your Ontario customers put it.

  • Your side first in search

Your site, your profiles and your replies lead a search for your name, with the old thread on page two.

  • Found in every search that matters

Your profile and site kept consistent, so Google Maps and AI answers get your business right. SEO & AI Search is quoted separately.

  • The next one caught early

The watch flags a new false post within a business day, in English or French, while it is still a single review.

Who we work with

Ontario businesses we protect

A Toronto dental clinic and a Hamilton contractor lose work the same way, in front of different audiences. The approach is built around whoever reads your reviews.

  • GTA renovators and trades

Contractors from Oakville to Pickering are hired on Google and HomeStars, where one review about a job you never did can lose the next bid.

  • Bay Street and downtown firms

Lawyers, accountants and advisers are searched by name before every engagement. A stale complaint on page one is read before your credentials.

  • Dental and health clinics

Patients in Toronto, Mississauga and Ottawa filter by rating first, and a clinic cannot answer a patient’s claim in public.

  • Niagara wineries and attractions

Wineries in Niagara-on-the-Lake and attractions around the Falls are chosen by visitors from both sides of the border on recent reviews.

  • Cottage country stays

Resorts, rentals and marinas in Muskoka and the Kawarthas live on a short summer, and a fake review in June costs the season.

  • Kitchener-Waterloo employers

Tech firms recruit on their reputation as much as their product. Candidates read Glassdoor; clients read Google.

  • Realtors and property managers

Buyers and tenants across the GTA compare agents and landlords on reviews before they ever book a viewing.

  • Dealers and garages

From Windsor to Oshawa, car country, drivers compare dealers and workshops on Google before they ring for a price.

Working with us from Ontario

How the work runs on Eastern time

Most of Ontario keeps Eastern time; the far northwest, around Kenora and Fort Frances, keeps Central. The US number is a +1 line, so it dials from Ontario like any domestic call.

  1. Send your profile

Business name or Google link by the audit form, email, WhatsApp or the +1 line, from Toronto, Ottawa or anywhere in the province. No logins.

  2. Your audit comes back

Within 24 hours, in writing, English and French reviews alike marked as fair or a likely breach.

  3. You approve what goes ahead

Only the cases you agree to are taken on. Rather discuss it? A call fits into your Eastern-time working day.

  4. A weekly report

A weekly page of cases, new reviews and search movement, checkable against the live profiles. Removals invoiced once verified.

Which parts of Ontario do you cover?

All of it: Toronto and the GTA, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Windsor, Niagara, Kingston, Barrie, Sudbury and Thunder Bay. One remote team serves the province; there is no office in Ontario.

Can you deal with reviews written in French?

Yes. A review is judged against the platform’s policies whatever the language, and replies are drafted in the language the customer used, which matters in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario.

Should I sue someone over a fake review?

Talk to an Ontario lawyer first. Under section 137.1 of the Courts of Justice Act a defendant can ask the court to dismiss a claim early when it concerns expression on a public-interest matter. The platform route needs no court and no name, which is why it is worth trying first.

Do you handle HomeStars?

For watching and replies, always. When HomeStars would act on a review that violates its own policies, we take it on the way we would on Google; a review tied to a verified GTA job is far harder to move, and the audit tells you so.

Is there a Canadian phone number?

The US number covers it: a +1 line, so from Toronto or Ottawa it dials like a domestic call. Email and WhatsApp reach the same people within 24 hours.

How is it billed?

The audit is free. Removals are invoiced one by one once verified gone; monitoring, replies in either language and search work are a weekly fee with no lock-in.
